I just installed oss today and can't start the daemon.
sudo /etc/rc.d/oss start gives this
:: Starting Open Sound System [BUSY]
FATAL: Module atiaudio not found.
Loading module atiaudio failed - ignored
FATAL: Module ossusb not found.
Loading module ossusb failed - ignored
[DONE]
I've tried looking everywhere for the atiaudio and ossusb modules but I can't find them. Can anyone help me?

Try doing:
modprobe atiaudio
and
modprobe ossusb
You can add these modules to the MODULES array in /etc/rc.conf so they load up at boot time.

I was having this problem as well. Edit /usr/lib/oss/etc/installed_drivers. Replace atiaudio with oss_atiaudio and replace ossusb with oss_usb. Then restart OSS. They apparently did some renaming.

modprobing the modules doesn't work because of what jnengland77 said. Thanks for the renaming thing I'll try that when I get home.
