mythtv without any Desktop

Hello,

is it possible to install and run a mythtv system (frontend + backend) without any Desktop like xfce, gnome or kde?

I want to save all kinds off resources so that the Computer boot up very fast. I want to use the computer only for the myttv.

Have someone some experience with this topic oder know someone a website for this topic?

you dont need to run the entire enviroment but you will probably need some kind of window manager

You'll want to have something.  Try Openbox or Fluxbox.  Hell, even TWM would be good, and very light.
