basically what the topic says since the logo on the site does not have a space between arch and linux but most other places have is that just a oversight in the logo or is there a point to it?

I would say the Aaron is the only one who can truly stamp an official answer on this, however, a few observations:
Judd called it Arch Linux
All documentation refers to it as Arch Linux
As long as I have been around, the logo has been archlinux.

Logos rarely show a proper name ;-p

I don't think anybody would throw a fit if it was used either way.
Arch Linux is more than just a name to us. ArchLinux is our OS. ![]()

I always assumed the 'space' in the logo was implied by the change in font face and colour between the two words. So Arch Linux in proper conversation. But nobody will be too confused if you use archlinux, its not like there's two different products. Just don't use Ark Linux.

It's true that early records show it to be Arch Linux, however I do think that Archlinux or even ArchLinux is more appropriate. After all, it's not an Arch Bishop, but an Archbishop...and an Archenemy. It just makes more sense to me that way.
And I'm slowly trying to swing things this way as I update my own packages and documents...
For the record, I believe our OverLord prefers the CamelCased spelling of ArchLinux--which is still better than a two-word solution IMO.

I just will never use ArchLinux in the newsletter, it looks so unprofessional. Arch Linux all the way. I really think we should get this to votations.
I agree, unprofessional. Archlinux, however, looks better (if it has to be one word)

It's true the old website used Arch Linux--then again many package descriptions and wiki references currently use Archlinux and they predate my time as a developer. The old website also used a different logo...things change as necessary.

This really needs to be solved, we seriously need consistency.

Anyway, I just read something about naming of Linux distros. I happen to agree with the writer. I wonder what you will think?

Now that is a strange one
Personally I don't care. Let the user call it whatever he/she wants, but when it comes to documentation and official material, it should be called 'Arch Linux'.

Agreed. I just can't see how this really matters....
