What's with the ro ?

Hi,

I've spotted that in the grub menu.list, the / partition is mounted ro.
Whereas with other distribs (like openSUSE) it isn't.
And if with openSUSE you try to add ro, it fails to start properly.

What happens if I start Arch without ro in the grub menu.list
And why is the ro there by default, and what is it for ?

Thanks big_smile

Re: What's with the ro ?

root is mounted ro while the initcpio is starting, and then i remounted rw when the init takes over.
