Install kernel .27?

I'm about to install Arch x86_64 on my laptop, but thought I would go for the latest kernel since it support my grahic and wireless card. Is it possible to install a preconfigured arch cd with this, else how can I install it after I've installed Arch on my laptop?

It's probably easiest to install with the 2.6.26 kernel on the cd, then update to the .27. Since the .27 kernel hasn't even made it into Arch's testing repository you'll need to build it yourself. If you don't know about building packages read up about abs and specifically kernel building on the wiki. It's probably as simple as changing the version numbers in the PKGBUILD file, though it's possible there could be some compatability issues with a patches.

Please note that 2.6.27 is not released yet - it's currently at rc8. We will only package the final release, and as mcmillan says, it will go to the testing repo first.

I can't wait for 2.6.27, also because it will have native drivers for my wireless usb dongle. And then I can finally switch back to 64bit.

Around what time do you estimate it will hit the testing repo?

When the maintainer builds it, pretty simple. And he only builds it when .27 is out.
