Halo in Wine

Yo,

I'm trying to run Halo in Wine. It installed perfectly but won't run. I've tried it with -window and -novideo, running it in a virtual desktop (via winecfg), and safe mode. Regardless of these options, it just shows the loading screen, flickers a little, and then restarts X (at least I think it is; it boots me from my gnome session and shows gdm).

This is in Arch 64 with Intel Mobile GM965/GL960. I'm using the bin32-wine-suse package from the AUR (which is Wine 1.1.4).

Thanks!

Did it ever run in Wine?

Here's the Wine AppDb page for Halo, might help some

Re: Halo in Wine

Thanks, but I've seen that before, and used it as a reference when installing it. Unfortunately, I don't see anyone else having my problem.

What do you mean by "did it ever"? I've never run it on my machine, but according to its entry in the AppDB, it is possible (even with 1.1.4 specifically).

I got it to run, but it has been some time and I didn't keep it around. Did you try the -use20 and -use11 options?

No cigar, my friend. It's really weird. The splash screen comes up, but then GNOME suddenly gets 'posterized' almost, and then X restarts.
