D-Link DWA-643

I have a DWA-643 with an AR5418 chip wireless Express Card for my laptop. Im trying to set it up with Madwifi. Can anyone say me how? If possible with 802.11n support.
By now it only works when in plug it in before startup. And only 802.11b/g and no support for monitor mode. When I try hotplug my laptop starts slowing down and I have to reboot.

Thanks.

Re: D-Link DWA-643

I think I have the same. I installed it some months ago, but madwifi didn't work. Using ndiswrapper worked pretty much immediately.

I'm using netcfg and wpa_supplicant to connect to a WPA2-PSK network. I'll see if I have the time tonight to post my configs.

BTW: There is a newAtheros driver coming soon (ath9k) with 802.11n-support and it will be built in to the kernel, probably in v2.6.27. That's when I will try another driver, not anytime sooner.

After compiling the Ath9k driver the power light is working. But I can only scan. It never connect to any network. ¿Any idea of what can it be?

Not really - I am in no way an advanced linux-user...

I do know from reading up on it that you have to blacklist the ath5k and ath_pci-modules in rc.conf - otherwise you could encounter various problems with conflicting driver modules. Maybe it's worth trying...
