VitualBox and Host network adapter

Hey big_smile

I want to use XP under VirtualBox for some development I'm doing, but I need to "reach" to the VM through network (this means pinging and doing connections) however all I get with NAT is a 10.0.2.xx address that I can't ping or do anything with, outside the VM.

When in VirtualBox I click "Host network adapter", I get 3 options that (I assume) must fill: Interface name (but below it says something about TAP? wtf is TAP?), and some two scripts for enabling and disabling the interface? why scripts?...

I'm confused here. What I ant to do is to just have the host (my PC) and the guest (XP) ping each other and do network connections. Is there any way to do so? how should I proceed?

Thanks in advance! big_smile

Re: VitualBox and Host network adapter

I'm trying to do the same. Go to the wiki and search for virtualbox.
With me everything it's working, my host have net but i can't have net on the host, i don't know why.
Maybe for work.

Good luck.
