Why was rtorrent/libtorrent just reverted?
I (heavily) run the young 0.8.3-1 since 2 weeks with no problem whatsoever. The older version doesn't have some nice features (DHT, contacts swap...). Has anyone a clue? I found nothing in bugtracer/forums.

I would like to know also. Just did a system upgrade and now I don't have dht. 0.8.3 was working fine for me too. How can I get 0.8.3 back?

Ok, thanks for this. But what is the reason for the downgrade? Instability? Bugs? What?

I had to get 0.8.2 from AUR (rtorrent-unstable) to get back my DHT options. Why was this package downgraded to most recent stable from unstable?

These questions probably should go to the maintainer, who may not read the forums.
archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

Check the discussion on the Package pages in AUR.

Thanks for hint, I didn't check the AUR.
I IgnorePkg'ed rtorrent/libtorrent, I'm happy with the unstable version here.

I had to go back to stable version no dht
After using it since yesterday, the memory just kept growing it was at 30% on my system before going back to stable. I don't know what was the difference between this one and the one that I had installed before pacman reverted to stable. Before the revert it was flawless on my system with dht.
edit: just noticed cpu usage was also higher

0.8.3.1 segfaulted for me each time I ran it, I manually downgraded.

There's a patch that is supposed to solve the recent crash issues. You can view the bug report here. I'm testing it since a good 42 seconds and no crash so far ![]()
