Current install CD can no longer install Arch?

After a lot of distro hopping, I've come back to Arch, but I have met a rude surprise: the install CD doesn't seem to work any more. If I try to do an FTP install, then on displaying the available package groups, the installer displays the string "Error: expected 7 tokens" in place of the names of available groups; hitting enter at the 'OK' prompt simply brings me back to the installer's main screen. What's going on here?
