Permission problems with integrated webcam on ASUS EEE 901

Hi everyone,

I've recently bought this laptop. I've been setting it up, but I have problems with 2 devices: webcam and microphone.

If I log in as root, webcam works fine. If I log as a normal user (and this user is on Video group) the webcam is detected, but nor in Skype nor in Cheese  webcam images are shown.

And the microphone, directly, doesn't work on Skype (and on alsamixer I only can select Front Micro as Source Input, I can't select i-Mic as Wiki says).

What must I do to make all of this working properly?

Greetings

Are you also a member of the "camera", "audio", and "scanner" groups?

To enable the mic in ALSA, first make sure you're running ALSA 1.0.18+ (or the patched alsa in the stable zen-eee901 kernel), then when you start up "alsamixer", hit the TAB key first, to view [Capture] devices.  You should see your mic then.  I believe you need to unmute and raise the "Capture" channel.
