[SOLVED] Kernel 2.6.27 & Udev - amd64

System: Acer Aspire 5633WLMi (177.80 NVIDIA Drivers, Intel Wifi 3945ABG)
Distro: Arch Linux x86_64
Kernel: 2.6.27
Problem:
After

pacman -Syu

computer could not boot anymore, freezing (or stuck in a loop?) at "loading udev uevents" during the bootup.
Boots correctly in Fallback Mode but "loading udev uevents" takes 3-5 minutes.
This looks like a problem with kernel 2.6.27, since that's the only relevant package that has been upgraded.
Right before freezing the screen automatically goes to its max brightness, something it never did before. What's happening?

Everyone, this is my first post on this forum. It's been 3 years since I took up Arch Linux and I've been a proud and happy user ever since. Thanks for your awesome work, thanks for the support. Arch Linux is a blessing.

EDIT:
I should have posted this in the Hardware & Kernel subforum. I beg your pardon.

EDIT:
Ok, I found what happened (3 hours of work..). The Acer Orbicam (worst thing ever on a laptop) broke. And it started messing up with Udev. I took out the cable connecting it t the mainboard and Arch Linux got back to its usual smoothness. Coincidentally, it happened during the upgrade. Sorry for the trouble.
