Kernel26 is causing upgrading issues

I'm noticing a lot of threads about this, but I don't see any answers..what is going on?

I tried upgrading arch linux today after not using it for a while and it can't resolve dependancies because of kernel26.

sudo pacman -Syu

I can't install kernel26, and I can't upgrade because I need kernel26, what should I do?

Thanks,

Re: Kernel26 is causing upgrading issues

this is because ipw3945 is not supported anylonger, you will have to use iwl3945 module instead with works flawlessly. than upgrading the kernel should be no problem. just replace ipw3945 with iwl3945, and make sure you donwload the firmware for the iwl3945 drivers as well.

[ ~]$ sudo pacman -Ss iwl3945
[ ~]$

Maybe core/iwlwifi-3945-ucode 15.28.1.6-1?
