gconf settings problem

I don't know if it is related to this: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57009, but after that, I've got a problem with gnome.
Panel icons are not there, and, worst than that, if I try to change mouse acceleration, the slide gets stuck in "slow", and after that refuses to remember any further change.
If that's not enough, System/Preferences/Appearence crashes just after I open it.

I've found a closed debian bug report (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=446212), this night, that explained this as a gconf problem, but the solution was not the one for me (mainly because I still don't know where gconf is installed on this system, and also because I guess gconf-schemas is a Debian feature).

Honestly, I don't even know what kind of information should I add on this post... What can be useful?

Re: gconf settings problem

Solved activating testing and unstable repos, updating the system and deleting gnome's confs.
