Last time I checked we were at version 8.10...what is going on here? First, Ubuntu gets a magical version of "8.10" that works with 2.6.27 & X 1.5, then everyone else gets the stupid 8.10 that doesn't work with anything and took three days to have release notes. And now, Arch gets 8.11. This release cycle doesn't seem to make any sense. Can someone explain this to me?

Releases are numbered as Y.MM (e.g. 8.10 was released in October (10th month) 2008).
8.11 won't be released until November, although the beta is already out.

I know that. That's why I'm confused. I was under the impression that the supposed beta was only released to Ubuntu.
