Arch 2.6.27 and SD cards

Hi,
I've just moved from Ubuntu to Arch.
First, I have to say - This is so much better !!! smile

I am having some difficulties though...
My laptop is a Toshiba Tecra S5. It has a built-in SD card reader, which I cant seem to be able to use properly.
Sometimes, after I boot with a card inserted, I see the card mounted on my desktop. I can also see the device (/dev/mmcbkp0 I think), after I unmount it, to insert another card, nothing happens.
Moreover, the device is gone...
Other times, after booting neither the device nor the mounted folder appear...

dmesg tells me nothing, except for after I have successfully unmounted a card.
The SD controller appears with lspci, the output is:

06:0b.2 Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments 5-in-1 Multimedia Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO/xD)
06:0b.3 SD Host controller: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller

And what i think are the appropriate modules, seem to be loaded. modprobe -l | grep tifm gives:

/lib/modules/2.6.27-ARCH/kernel/drivers/mmc/host/tifm_sd.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.27-ARCH/kernel/drivers/memstick/host/tifm_ms.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.27-ARCH/kernel/drivers/misc/tifm_core.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.27-ARCH/kernel/drivers/misc/tifm_7xx1.ko

Any clues?

Thanks in advance,
A.J.
