What the heck is the "MPEG-2 transport stream demuxer plugin"

Hey Guys...
I am new to archlinux an now I`ve got some issues with my videooutput...

My graphical card is an "Intel graphics media accelerator X3100".

This card was once blacklisted by compiz, but it works really nice for me.

All i had to do was to change the video-output in the  **gstreamer-properties**
to "no XV", when i`m running compiz.

But some Videos still revolt :-)

Totem desires the "MPEG-2 transport stream demuxer plugin" to play a .mov file...

I heard about that in association with "xine" and **video-streaming**, but i'm only running gstreamer and i dont stream a video...
I just want to playback one.

My VLC-media-player says

libdvbpsi error (PSI decoder): TS discontinuity (received 1, expected 3) for PID 0
libdvbpsi error (PSI decoder): TS discontinuity (received 7, expected 2) for PID 0
libdvbpsi error (PSI decoder): TS discontinuity (received 9, expected 8) for PID 0

for the length of the hole video :-0

this is a streaming-video-error (says google), but onece again: i'm not streaming anything..

So whats wrong here?

I got the **codecs-package, gstreamer, libquicktime**

In Ubuntu i never had any problems with videoplayback...

So it has to be a failure of mine i think...

Do you have gstreamer0.10-bad and gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins installed?

The MPEG-2 transport stream demuxer plugin that totem needs is gstreamer0.10-fluendo, which is in AUR.

mmh... ok...

I´ll bulid it tonight...

but i am a bit confused that Totem needs an Mpeg2-Plugin to playback a .mov-file...

However... I`ll report later...

gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg and gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins should be able to play mov files.

MPEG-TS containers can contain MPEG4 elements. MPEG-TS was defined with the MPEG2 standard, so you need something to handle the container. The .mov decoder is needed for the codecs.

Ok... At the moment i am at the university, so i will not be able to try the **gstreamer0.10-fluendo** until i'm back home...

But if that does not solve the problem: Which packages do you mean GERGE?
The AUR is full of mplayer-entries...

Can you tell me which packages you prefer?
