Two separate problems. Using arch on an eee pc 1000h, with the xf86-video-intel driver installed as per the wiki and wmii.
1) I get odd text-related graphical glitches in various programs. For instance, sometimes when I'm scrolling down a page in opera the text will suddenly become garbage, and remain that way until I switch to a new window and move back or otherwise force the system to redraw the page. This happens sporadically, but often enough that for some pages I have to swtich windows constantly to be able to read the text. It happens less often in other pages, and it happens in some other programs besides opera but not all of them. It never happens in xchat, for intsance, and in abiword it happens without fail whenever I try to backspace, making the program unusable.
2) OpenOffice fails to run on my system. When I start it, the splash screen will appear and the box's progress bar will run up to completion. Then the program halts, gives the following errors in the command line and starts using cpu time uncontrollably until I kill the soffice process.
