wine problems

Hi,

i just installled Wine, but it does not seem to work.......... :?

When i do a "wine blablabla.exe" it restarts X and gdm.
I can just read before it restarts X "creating /home/homedir/.wine"
and something about an exception.

Anybody got any idea? I don't have windows on my system (and i want to keep it that way big_smile )
btw where can i find the error log ? (yes i'm a newbie)

Help is appreciated, because i need wine to install NeverWinter Nights with the icculus installer. Has anybody got experience with that game under linux?

Re: wine problems

The log should be in /var/log/xfree.log, or X.log, depending on which X11 you use.

And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
They're all resting down in Cornwall
writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition
of the Boy Scout Manual.

Re: wine problems

I solved the problem. There was something wrong with my Nvidia drivers (!!?). Just removed and reinstalled them.

You do when installing with the Icculus installer. Which is very handy if you have the game cd's.
Btw it didn't work,  , so i'm going to use the NWN linuxclient anyhow.. and have to download >1 gig of gamedata.............
