Re: some wallpapers

hey, great work

now let's hack xfce4 to show different wallpapers in hour-intervals of the day, and an arch-desktop becomes something really special :-)

did you made it as svg? any chance to share it?
or can you help with some basics in svg-design?: i wonder how you made the background of the circle and the shadow to look that plastic

thanx in advance

Re: some wallpapers

Realdraw is a very nice program :-) I was using it in windows to create bitmap buttons for webpages. Everything works as vector graphics (+ effects) until you render it to bitmap file. You can do nice things in realdraw very quickly this way.

dp: you can rotate wallpapers in xfce using for example crontab. Just make some script that will copy (random?) wallpaper file to for example /path/to/somewhere/rotatingwallpaper.jpg (erasing the previous version) then you have to run xfdesktop as a user (first setup xfce to use rotatingwallpaper.jpg file) and it will reload the wallpaper (no redundant processes). IIRC there is some info about this on xfce docs webpages. I've done similar things with xplanet but without cron - just manual refreshing by clicking on an icon (simple bash script downloading new meteo data and using it to render new earth image with clouds visible).
