You have to understand that the developers' time is limited. The packages you mention are already marked out-of-date and will be updated when the maintainer gets to it. ![]()

I could go easily and upgrade it like that, just changing the number of the package. But, we try to fix all the bugs there are pending for said package before upgrading it. But well, as foutrelis pointed out, sometimes we don't have the time to do just that. Maybe if you go to the bug tracker search for the bug that jre and jdk are affected by, and provide us with the way to fix it, it would be better. Well, I guess is very easy to find the fix, since andyrt already fixed it for openjdk6. But well, all is a matter of time, we do try our best to not let packages sit outdated for too long.

Sorry i didnt know the policy is to fix all previous bugs before upgrading the package.
this are jre and jdk with bug #11606 fixed and upgraded to 6u10
http://www.s506.com/arch/jre.tar.gz
http://www.s506.com/arch/jdk.tar.gz
i also did some cleanup on the PKGBUILD to use the same variables on both of them, removed 1 dependency in jdk and added the version of the jre dependency on jdk
i have not test this on x86_64 so i hope it will work

thanks for your work. I am currently starting a discussion in the arch-dev-public mailing list to see if someone in the developers team is willing to take on the job, or if we should move it to community/AUR. http://archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev … 08953.html so long, nobody seems interested in it.

You are welcome. If you need any aditional help or if the packages are moved to AUR i would love to take the job.
