use lvm smile

otherwise: go to init 1, mount the home partition to /mnt, cp -a /mnt /home and there you are

LVM is not an option atm. ^^ The other sounds good but do I need to change any thing in the mtab? To mount it correctly at boot?

I'm not sure about mtab but you should remove any reference to "/dev/sdxx  /home ... etc" that you would likely have in /etc/fstab since it isn't located there anymore.

The solution: Format the XP parition to fat or fat32 with gparted or w/e you use. The install XP. Works like a charm.

Ps: I had the same problem.
