internet problem...

so i just reinstalled arch because of this and it happend again...

i connect to my wireless no problem following the beginner's guide right after install and begin to configure X...but i mess up and have to reboot

after fixing my problem i am ready to install a DE (KDE 4.1 because i have never used it before and i want something new)

i enter the command in pacman and get a long error message about how it couldnt find the servers

i ping google and it couldnt find that

so i try to reconnect to the internet and i get this when i enter ifconfig wlan0 up

SIOCSIFFLAGS : No such file or directory

Re: internet problem...

Please specify your network card model, how could we investigate the problem otherwise?

Re: internet problem...

I generally connect tot he internet via a cable until I have a DE and graphical network manager installed - I'll admit it, I don't like configuring wireless from the terminal.
However, that's the same wireless card I have, so I know it works great. Have you got the correct module (iwl4965) loaded?

That is a similar message I get when the external wifi switch is turned off.. Also make sure that the firmware is installed.
