VFS: cannot open root device (again!!!)

Hi everyone!
I'm a new Arch user coming from Gentoo.
As a gentoo user I have an irresistable need to compile my kernel big_smile
I tried to configure as much as I could as built-in and not as module, eg. ide controller and file systems, and to boot without initrd as I did in gentoo but I cannot get it to work.
This is the error I get: "VFS: cannot open root device "sda3" or unknown-block(0,0)"
Does anyone know the reason of this error?

Thanks

ehm... sorry!

I've just found the problem after about 1000 tries!
I just forgot to select all the drivers needed by my hdd controller. smile
