Re: Installing the Totem Youtube Plugin

it should just come installed with totem 2.24. no need to install the plugin as an extra package.

Re: Installing the Totem Youtube Plugin

I would suggest to run Totem from the command line, so you can have some debug output.

My guess is  that you need gnome-python.

Gosh I'm being a little loose, that's what I should have done the whole time tongue  Which made me find that ...

... I needed gnome-python.  Installed it and it works!  Why is it not a dependency?

Okay, so now I'm searching for a video, and it hangs at "Fetching search results..."  It never gets past this.

Re: Installing the Totem Youtube Plugin

Sounds like it's included in the latest release, 2.24.3, which is not in the repos yet.  I downloaded totem's PKGBUILD, changed the version to 2.24.3 and I'm building it now.  I'll let you guys know if it works.

edit - thought I would mention, bluez is a makedepends=() dependency but it's not in the repos.  I'm going to remove it because I have bluez-libs installed, I hope it works.

Re: Installing the Totem Youtube Plugin

I built it, and the plugin halfway works.  Here's the new issue.  I double-click on a video, and I get this

Re: Installing the Totem Youtube Plugin

I'm getting the search results, but clicking on one gives me the error message "GStreamer encountered a general supporting library error." -- anyone know of a solution? The terminal shows:

$ totem

Re: Installing the Totem Youtube Plugin

If you search the web for your error message, you'll find the this is an upstream bug in totem. And please don't bump year old threads.
