tracker doesn't work in deskbar-applet

Hi again, one more problem.

I used to use a lot the spotlight-like tandem deskbar-applet + tracker; but after the upgrade to Gnome 2.24 it doesn't work for me anymore and it looks like i'm the only one that uses it or, at least, that has this problem.

I followed these instructions but nothing happens. The other deskbar plugins happen to be like

/usr/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible/wikipedia-suggest.py
/usr/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible/wikipedia-suggest.pyc
/usr/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible/wikipedia-suggest.pyo

I tried placing module-tracker.py in that directory but again nothing happens and cannot find the files tracker-module.pyc nor tracker-module.pyo. As google tells me at least tracker-module.pyc should be created automatically the first time tracker-module.py is run. I tried to force it and here is the result:

[pablo@pablerkas modules-2.20-compatible]$ python tracker-module.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible/tracker-module.py", line 14, in <module>
    import deskbar.core.gnomedesktop
ImportError: No module named gnomedesktop
[pablo@pablerkas ~]$ sudo modprobe gnomedesktop
FATAL: Module gnomedesktop not found.

I googled again with that but found nothing helpful...

Thanks in advance.

Plus: keybindig <ctrl>space doesn't work...

Re: tracker doesn't work in deskbar-applet

ok i have patched the script, but...
the script works but if I restart X or simply restart the deskbar, the script is not shown in the list (even if I use the reload button).
I have to recopy the script (from a backup dir) to the /usr/lib/deskbar.../modules.../ dir and it magically works, until the next reboot....
note that the script is in /usr/ so it cannot be modified by my user (and deskbar)

Can you confirm this?

I can make a script that copy the script everytime gnome boots, but it's not a good idea...

Well... sorry but actually i did not follow those instructions, i don't like workarounds too much... I'm just waiting for an update for this and for iptables-firestarter...
