firefox - gnome-open problem

Hi!

I'm using gnome and firefox. When I download a image (png/jpg) if I try to open it through the download manager of firefox it will open Paint.mono. If I try to open a pdf file it will open Gimp. In nautilus I had set differente applications to open these file types.
I can't find any configure in Firefox to change that and I don't know if these problem is restricted to Firefox but I don't how to test it right know.

Edit -> Preferences -> Applications?

That is how Firefox handles mime-types but my problem is how gnome/firefox handles them.
