More info please.
Are you using Compiz Fusion standalone, or with a DE like GNOME?
Offline
I am planning to use compiz together with gnome.

With an nvidia video card, what helped me was to put the following in /etc/X11/xorg.conf under the Device section:
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "On"

Have you tried this
gconftool-2 --install-schema-file=/usr/share/gconf/schemas/compiz-decorator-gtk.schemas
And also, is "compiz-decorator-gtk" installed?

This happens to me when a new window spawns. Almost EVERY FARKING TIME. I have to reload the window manager via the fusion icon to make the decorations come back.

I spent an hour trying to get compiz running until I stumbled across this thread. Turns out I had forgotten to turn Window Decorations on. Thanks guys.

Kinda same problem here, I installed compiz fusion with GNOME and everything worked fine (except some unknown type "all/all" etc warnings on installing compiz-fusion-gtk). I have fusion icon in tray, I enabled Windows decoration, move and resize as said in Wiki file but when I try to switch to Compiz - windows decoration is off. I have nouvea nVidia drivers installed, and the error is:
* Setting window manager to Compiz
... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
compiz (core) - Fatal: Root visual is not a GL visual
compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
When I back to metacity it works ok .... Any suggestions?

If you can start gtk-window-decorator from terminal and everything works, please adding "gtk-window-decorator" in command entry under Window decorations option of CCSM, then it should solve your problem.
