Cannot play audio cd (solved)

Problems: Sound does not work with audio cd when using KsCD, JUK, XMMS from the cdrom. If I download mp3, wav, ogg files from the internet they play just fine.
Audio cds do not show up in the file manager (Dolphin) but data cds do. Sound works with any other applicaton. I am runing KDE4.1.2. fstab is as follows:
/dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom   auto   ro,user,noauto,unhide   0      0
/dev/dvd /mnt/dvd   auto   ro,user,noauto,unhide   0      0
/dev/sdb1 /boot ext2 defaults 0 1
/dev/sdb2 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/sdb3 / ext3 defaults 0 1
/dev/sdb4 /home ext3 defaults 0 1
/dev/sda1 /home/svr ext2 defaults 0 1
/dev/sda2 /home/group ext3 defaults 0 1
/dev/sda3 /backup ext3 defaults 0 1
/dev/sdc1 /mnt/usb auto noauto,users 0 0
/dev/sdd1 /mnt/usb auto noauto,users 0 0
I changed /dev/sr0 from iso9660 to auto.
rc.conf has the following DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs cups crond alsa dbus hal fam kdm )
I have gpasswd -a my user name to optical and storage. I restarted hal. I tested alsa with front center.wav and that works. Kmixerr shows nvidia ck804 as the sound card with front, surround, center, LFE, PCM and cd at 98% with cd capturee enabled, nothing is muted. What did I miss?

Went into preferences in Xmms and configured cdplayer from analog input to digital input, now output works fine.
