[RESOLVED, Sort of] Unable to Connect to Printers on Windows Box

I know this is going to be one of those "D'oh" moments, but here goes...

I've searched the Forums, Web and Wiki but I haven't found the answer and I've been trying for the last three days.

My printers are connected to the family desktop running Windows XP Pro. I just can't seem to get printing to work from my laptop running Arch. I am able to print from my laptop when using Ubuntu's 8.04 Live CD, So I know that things on my windows side are set correctly. When using the live CD, the printers are located at

smb://mshome/onyx/hp840

and

 smb://mshome/onyx/Photo200

These were set up using the GNOME printer configuration tool. Using the same URI in the web based cups config in Arch, openbox and my WM, I get the following error:

"Unable to connect to CIFS host after (tried 3 times)"

I'm not currently at my computer but will post additional info, if needed, after work.

Thanks,

Kent

RESOLVED: I managed to get printing to work by changing the location of the printer to the Windows box ip address:

 smp://192.168.x.x/printer_name

My question now; since my Windows box gets it's ip via dhcp what happens when the ip changes? There has to be a way to take this into consideration.

Is there a way to specify a range of ips to a host in /ect/hosts?
