Hi,
I've upgraded arch to .27.5 kernel and my rtl8180 wifi seems choppy transferring stuff through lan (used both sftp and samba). With .26 kernels and with winxp it was ok....
Here is a graph:

normally I get > 1mB/s always.
Now it seems to block sometimes... and I always get 400kB/s avarage...
(note that the graph is taken from another pc so that it is a download speed second pc ----> rtl8180
maybe some iwconfig options (power saving) were enabled upgrading?
here is iwconfig output:

try the solution from my rtl8187(L).
ifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig wlan0 rate 5.5M fixed
*iwconfig wlan0 essid .... key ....
dhcpd wlan0
*or use netcfg2 profile if configured
New things emerge when they were forgotten.
