execute command after certain amount of inactivity...

I want to lock the screen after 10 minutes of inactivity, but using slock rather than xscreensaver (I only use a blank screensaver anyway, so it is overkill). Is there a good way to do this? I've checked out acpid but couldn't figure out if inactivity could be an event (but even if it could I dunno if that was the best thing to look into). I also found something about a TMOUT variable and .bash_logout, but I'm not sure that would do what I want.

Advice appreciated.

Can't give you any advice besides looking at the source code for a screensaver...

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

Yep, xautolock is what you're after...it's great and can be used to execute just about anything after a period of inactivity.
