Please run:

  libtoolize --copy --force

if appropriate, please contact the maintainer of this
package (or your distribution) for help.

What can i do about that?

the files config.guess, ltmain.sh, config.guess from cacti-spine-0.8.7a/config were linked to /usr/share/libtool .....they were missing ../config
so i cped them by hand. is that ok?

Did you try running that before ./configure etc...

Re: [SOLVED]spine for cacti

I could have sworn that I already had a spine.

Re: [SOLVED]spine for cacti

cd cacti-0.8.7a
libtoolize --copy --force
libtoolize: putting auxiliary files in AC_CONFIG_AUX_DIR, `config'.
libtoolize: copying file `config/ltmain.sh'
libtoolize: You should add the contents of the following files to `aclocal.m4':
libtoolize: `/usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4'
libtoolize: `/usr/share/aclocal/ltoptions.m4'
libtoolize: `/usr/share/aclocal/ltversion.m4'
libtoolize: `/usr/share/aclocal/ltsugar.m4'
libtoolize: `/usr/share/aclocal/lt~obsolete.m4'
libtoolize: Consider adding `AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR([m4])' to configure.ac and
libtoolize: rerunning libtoolize, to keep the correct libtool macros in-tree.
libtoolize: Consider adding `-I m4' to ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS in Makefile.am.

another configuer after that and the same gentoo sanity message appears

Re: [SOLVED]spine for cacti

problem is fixed in:
cacti-spine-0.8.7c-beta2

you have to copy ltmain.sh from /usr/share/libtool/config/ into cacti-spine.../config, but thats it.

Re: [SOLVED]spine for cacti

metalfan, check the AUR for spine smile

Let me know if it works to you, since my cacti isn't working with spine (i suspect it's a problem of php).
