every time i log into my computer shell i get the following message
Last login: Mon Nov 17 13:27:41 2008 from xxx.x.xx.xx
-bash: alias: -laf: not found
-bash: alias: com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeelâ: not found
how can i fix this?

Open your shellrc file in a text editor. Chances are it's ~/.bashrc. If you don't find the problem lines there, check ~/.bash_profile.
