Planned downtimes with some info posted on the main pages is ok for me, no worries there, but I got a little bit worried when there was no page at all and no one knew for sure what was wrong.
Yeah, and at the end we all found out an ant was stuck between the processor and the fan and that made a catastrophic outcome for the server, so removing it from there fixed the thing. ![]()
Well, at least some developers took that as vacations time.
And some of us were hitting refresh every minute. ![]()

Are you serious about the ant ? Because that's hilarious ![]()
The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

He's just joking. The server simply crashed. We suspect that it was caused by a kernel OOPS but no-one knows for sure what happened.

Are you sure there was no extra terrestrial force involved?
Still, my ant story is better than the kernel OOPS one, so if someone asks it was an ant. ![]()

Kensai should be applauded. The ant explanation is far more elegant and KISS than kernel OOPS could ever be. ![]()

Take that Dusty, I am serious business for the people. And my theories are far better than yours. So, I win. w00t!

Isn't your theory based on the story of the first computer 'bug' in history ?
English is not my native language .

Imagine if it was an ant. We'd have ant trackers now and antzilla.
But hey, at least our homepage load time was good.

I share my birthday with the first computer bug.

Most of the downtime for arch would be from that day when the server crashed and couldn't be fixed for a day.
Fustrated Windows users have two options.
1. Resort to the throwing of computers out of windows.
2. Resort to the throwing of windows out of computers.

The downtime was really bad timing for me. I'd just installed Arch on Saturday and then the mirrors were out of sync on Sunday and I couldn't install anything or get to the wiki. I later realised I could've used google cache for the wiki.
