Like the topic title says, it'd be nice if we had a PKGBUILD for the QT4 version of Avidemux, which would be good for KDE 4 users.
Thanks!

I maintain the avidemux package in extra. Last time I updated it, I thought about adding the qt4 version in the package. However, it increased the package size significantly so I finally decided not to include it. I might do a seperate qt4 package if there are enough people interested. If you are interested in a avidemix-qt4 package, post here to show your interest.

Always nice to see new packages.

The QT4 version isn't as stable as the GTK version yet.

cmake and qt4 avidemux = whiii!
I got the idea from avidemux forums that the qt4 version will be the preferred one in the future.

Here's another +1 for the Qt version of Avidemux.
Thanks for maintaining this package!

As there seem to be interest for this ( and pkgstats indicates that a lot of users have either qt or avidemux installed), there will be a package for the qt4 GUI.
I'll wait for the next avidemux release to do that. By then, the qt4 GUI will be more stable and complete. And it will give me time to think about how I'll proceed. I've created a bug report: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/12271 which contains a modified PKGBUILD that will install both gtk and qt GUI. Please use the bug report for further discussions. If you want to vote (not really necessary anymore as I made my decision), use the voting feature of the bug tracker.

Oh yeah: I won't put that PKGBUILD in AUR but anyone is free to do so. Just remember to change the pkgname.

Does anyone of you tried the qt GUI yet (from PKGBUILD in bug report) ? How stable is it?
I'll need to rebuild avidemux for an x264 update. I'm thinking about just adding the qt GUI in the current package, i.e. forgetting about splitted packages (at least for now).

No problems here, it works fine for me. Thank you!

It works for me too.
Thanks Snowman!:)
I've already done some video recoding and it works nice.
The only tiny issue for me with this gui is the language. It messes english with spanish (my kde language), but i believe that problem concerns to avidemux developers.
A little note for everyone: just remember to start avidemux with:
avidemux2_qt4and/or edit the menu entry of avidemux to execute the same.
