Hi everyone.
I'm a new user of archlinux on my Desktop computer, and I decided to install it on my brand new eeepc. But it seems it doesn't like me !
I followed strictly the tutorial on the wiki, added the [eee] repository and all, but it says to me that "init is not found", and I've got a beautiful kernel panic.
I don't understand, because on the several wikis I saw, it was said that this kernel-eee didn't need an initrd.
Can someone help me with that ?
By the way, archlinux works just fine with the original kernel, which have an initrd of course...
Thank you !

Also, I'm sorry if my english is bad !

That kernel is supposed to be used with the EeePC 701, and modules to boot may be different from yours.. so, this is the truth..
Change kernel or use the kernel26 initrd. Bye.

I thought this was the same. It doesn't work anyway with the kernel 26 initrd.
Do you know a kernel for the eeepc 900 ? I found a lot, but they all seemed to be for 901/1000 version...
Thanks !

Thanks for the advice !
Where do I find it ? Or maybe I'm stupid, is it the original kernel ?

You will get the stock kernel with
pacman -S kernel26
It will automatically create an initrd. You will need to change grub/lilo to use it.

Ok thanks a lot, I'm now using Archlinux on my eeepc ! With xfce, it seems to be just as light and easy for it. Ive got Openbox on my desktop one, but I think xfce is better here.
thanks again !
