broadcom-wl driver

Hi,

I have just got a new computer and am trying to set up the wireless. I have a broadcom BCM4312 and the broadcom-wl driver from AUR. Having followed the instructions on the wiki it fails to get a dhcp address from the router, timing out. I have a working ethernet through the same router.

ifconfig says

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:23:4D:D4:CE:99
          inet6 addr: fe80::223:4dff:fed4:ce99/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:302
          TX packets:16 errors:8 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:4016 (3.9 Kb)
          Interrupt:17 Base address:0xc000

iwlist scan says

eth1 Scan completed :

                    ESSID:"wlan-ap"

                              48 Mb/s; 54 Mb/s

iwconfig says

has anyone got any ideas?

Re: broadcom-wl driver

See if it works with a static IP.

Re: broadcom-wl driver

I had the same issue, not getting a DHCP address with broadcom-wl. I never did get it to work using dhcpcd, but for some reason it works fine with NetworkManager, so I didn't pursue the issue too much. You might want to try that if you aren't already.
