Shutting down and rebooting problem

Hi,

I don't know why but before, when I would shut down my computer I would get something like this:

---
System shutting down, please wait ...
---

Initializing shutdown...
*And here would be this list of everything that needs to be closed first*

Sometimes it would be like this:

Arch Linux (Core Dump) 2.6.27-ARCH (abakus) (vc/1)
abakus login:
Initializing shutdown...
*and here the list of everything again*

So, sometimes I would get a mix of login screen and shutdown screen? I noticed it usualy happened after I installed something new... but eventualy it would get back (somehow) to the shutdown screen only, without having this first two lines of login screen...
BUT (there's allways this but big_smile ), in the last few days, it's the mix of shutdown and login screen every time. Tried to fix it, but I don't get it what else could I try and do. I think it maybe might have something to do with some daemon not getting down corectly when it should, but I don't know how to find out which one it is...

So if anyone knows what could I do, please help
thnx
