Getting ALSA emulation to run under OSSv4 and running timidity too

1)

I tried to run timidity++ daemon, but since there's no ALSA running, it won't simply start. How do I get timidity to run under OSS?

2)

How do I get ALSA emulation running? i did what the wiki said, but it seems not to be working.

Ideas?
