Cannot set left-hand mouse

I found another problem due to the recent upgrade.
Originally I use the left-hand mouse by setting the file ~/.Xmodmap as follows:

pointer = 3 2 1

According to the wiki (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Get … ns_Working), this file should be read by GDM at the initialization stage, but it does not work now. I also tried to set the file .xinitrc by adding the line

xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1" &

but also failed.
Currently I have to input the above command manually to set the left-hand mouse. It is not a big problem but seems annoying.
