Re: kde4 loging out automaticly right after login

I have the same problem, with the same error message.
I've tried to change nvidia driver, using vesa, and I solved it.
So probably problem is caused by nvidia driver. Two possible causes:
- an error caused by the new version of nvidia driver;
- an error caused by the interaction of xorg-1.5 and nvidia.

Re: kde4 loging out automaticly right after login

I had a similar problem, with a fix: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 56#p457356 . Don't know if it's the same, though. I figure it's worth a shot.

Re: kde4 loging out automaticly right after login

If you're using the nvidia driver, the "BackingStore" option should fix it. It worked for me, but only after I deleted all of my xorg.conf except for the device section.

I think that was because "BackingStore" was being set to "True" in your Screen section (added by nvidia-settings). If you added it to the Nvidia Device section, then it would have been reversed by the Screen section that came later.
