Re: [solved] ardour and direct listening

What exactly do you mean? I understand it that way: You want to listen to the other tracks, which have already been recorded, while you play another one. Right? If so, absolutely no problem, just don't mute / solo anything. But Ardour is for recording, nothing more. If you want to have a distorted guitar on your speakers and only have the naked signal out of the guitar in your soundcard, you should use something like jack-rack and split the signal into Ardour and jack-rack. Ardour records the naked signal and jack-rack produces the sound for your ears. That's how I always do it (did it, because caps doesn't work anymore *cry*)

Re: [solved] ardour and direct listening

ok cool. listening to an already recorded track while i'm recording a new one works without any problems. but i think you're right that i've to split the signal if i want to listen to the instrument which is plugged into the soundcard AND to record it with ardour. i'll give it a try, thx for your fast reply!

sound under linux is such an awful issue big_smile

Indeed, it is sad But at least it's possible to create good recordings with ardour and such alike, still, if you want to do really good audio production, you need OSX, there's no way around that sad
