X hangs at boot

Hi

Yesterday i did a full system upgrade (pacman -Syu), and when i rebooted the gdm hangs.

I tryed to go into init 3 and run startx, same thing.

I cant find the xorg.conf and have tryed to generate a new one, but no luck :-(

Any ides? is this maby related to my system upgrade?

Re: X hangs at boot

Did you update X? If so, it operates a bit differently now due to hotplugging (which can lock-up your keyboard and mouse). See the xorg input hotplugging wiki article for details.

Well, it turnsout that pacman had removed my xorg.conf. i found it in /root/ and then i had to aplay the patch from the wiki.

Thanks for the help :-)

Re: X hangs at boot

Pacman won't mess with any config files you have changed. Instead it will make a copy of the file with a .pacnew extension.

But if you got it working, that's cool big_smile
