mouse click and alt-tab stop working every hour or so

First, I'm running fluxbox and, as of last night, am fully up-to-date on all packages.

I don't know if this is related to my earlier post about having to modify my xorg.conf file after an upgrade last night but this morning mouse clicks, mouse focus (I have focus on mouse over) and alt tab all stopped working every hour or so (one time after 10 mins). I also loose the ability to use alt-X to change desktops. This means I'm stuck in the window I'm using at the time and the only way to change is to close that and let focus drop back to the previous window. Any windows on other desktops are lost.

The only way to get it all back is to do a ctrl-alt-backspace and re-login.

Can anyone suggest any reason for this or any fixes?

I'm going to rollback to xorg 1.4.2 that was on yesterday, see if that fixes it.
