[SOLVED] Testing with mplayer breaks Apple Trailers. (Firefox)

Has anyone else encountered the same problem with testing enabled? Is there any way I can debug this? Since the browser just crash, and it is hard to understand the problem.

Using the gecko-mediaplayer plugin (which is based on mplayer) I have no problems.  What are you using as a plugin?

Have you tried running it from the command line and looking for appropriate output?

Thank you. I tryed it, and it worked like a charm. Does it support all what mplayer-plugin does?

It should do -  they are both based on mplayer.  It would be good to figure out why mplayer plugins stopped working though.

It's the soon-to-be replacement for mplayer-plugin. I haven't run into any sites yet that it doesn't work with assuming Mplayer has a plug-in to handle the stream.

My question is why mplayer still is in use. Over a year since latest RC release. Can't we use GStreamer, Totem, or whatever?

Can I spare the bug report? Just enjoyed the working plugin. Going to add it to the wiki now.

mplayer is very solid and very much still in development.  mplayer-svn is imho very stable and one of the elite linux apps.  Their development team has just taken a path of concentrating on the svn and not worrying about an "official" new release.
