After resent kernel upgrade to 2.6.27.8-1 suspend to ram stopped working:
root@c-laptop:/sys/power#echo mem > state
bash: echo: write error: Resource temporarily unavailable
As expected the same with s2ram:
root@c-laptop:/sys/power# s2ram
Switching from vt7 to vt1
Calling get_mode
fbcon fb0 state 1
s2ram_do: Resource temporarily unavailable
Calling do_post
Calling set_vbe_mode
fbcon fb0 state 0
switching back to vt7
Seems that the new kernel version has a bug or something. I'am compiling the previous version now from the old abs tree, thanks god I haven't updated it yet.
Any ideas how to fix that strange behaviour in resent kernel?

do you also have gnome-power-manager running for testing?
I tried it first with pm-suspend which works but gnome-power-manager doesnt show suspend/hibernate anymore after kernel update.

could be you need to downgrade the laptop-mode-tools

Thanks for reply, but kernel downgrade has fixed that issue for me.
2 tekknokrat That's other problem, which was successfully fixed by me before that kernel upgrade. I've used instructions found somewhere on this forum.

Hm seems my problem has another origin.
I am now at kernel-2.6.27.5-1 and laptop-mode-tools-1.42-1 again and still i cant suspend via gnome-powermanager. This issue is more than 2 weeks ago after first kernel upgrade imo ...27.7-1.

Solved via this
Now I'll see if it also works with current kernel, imo should be the case as no problem to suspend with pm-utils.
