Screen scaling problem with kdemod

Hi there!
I have been using arch for quite some time on my laptop, and finally decided to take the step and install it on my desktop computer. After some struggle getting the Mx1000 wireless mouse working I booted up X.

KDM's login screen appears just as it should in full screen.  The splash screen works perfectly, but when kde(mod) starts up something wierd happens. It does'nt fill the whole screen...but does allow programs to fill the screen horizontaly. To me this seems like an kde issue and not like an issue with X since everything else is working fine till the moment the computer enters kde. I've put by a screenshot for you to see what I mean
