Not sure if this is the right place to bring this up, but this indicates that catalyst was updated recently to 8.12-1:

When I try to sync catalyst, it still tries to re-install 8.11-1. Am I missing something?

Maybe it's the mirror. I had to change mirrors in order to get Catalyst and a couple of other updates.

Oh wow, I just tried the sync again for like the 3rd time and it worked. It's a pretty fresh package, so it's possible it just wasn't available earlier.
