some ati catalyst questions before buying new hw

hello,

i want to buy this mainboard Asus M3A78-EM (http://www.alternate.de/html/product/Ma … kel+AM2%2B) with the integrated ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics chipset.
since i always used nvidia, i have no experience with ati. though i read the wiki i haven't found sufficient information about the ati suspend behaviour (the default kernel suspend-to-disk and suspend-to-ram - no pm-utils or s2disk/s2ram or uswsusp).
with the nvidia graphics card i had some trouble getting suspend to work. but with some tweaking it finally worked.
however, how does it look for ati? what are the flaws or things that need consideration?
please share your wisdom,
vlad

ps: i'm reading this http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/catal … tml#173867 (AMD Proprietary Linux Release Notes).
and there they're saying:
"...following software must be installed:
XOrg 6.8, 6.9, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2 or 7.3
Linux Kernel 2.6 and above ..."
does catalyst work with xorg 7.4?

Re: some ati catalyst questions before buying new hw

Newest Catalyst 8.12 from Extra works without any problem with Xorg 7.4 smile Also, I have no problem with suspending (s2ram) on my Dell D610, but it uses x300 mobility. Don't know if it will work with HD3200.
